Buddy Programme Launched

The Office of International Relations on Thursday, 13th November, 2025, commenced the Buddy Programme, an initiative by the Office of International Relations which is aimed at providing support for international students to aid their seamless integration on campus.

As part of the programme, some students of the University, have been assigned to international students received by the University as part of plans to support the work of the Office in creating a supportive and congenial environment for international students. This is to enhance their integration into the University community and promote intercultural exchange and a sense of global citizenship among the student body.

The first phase of the programme witnessed the pairing of students of the University with study abroad experiences with exchange students who recently joined the University from our partner institutions in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, and Italy. In the coming years, the programme will be expanded to cover all international students received by the University.

The Dean, Prof. Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi, addressing the students, encouraged them to maintain good communication with their 'buddies' to ensure the success of the programme. He outlined the responsibilities of both the volunteers and the international students in the programme and assured them of the support of the Office when there are any challenges. Also present at the launch were the Vice-Dean of the Office, Prof. Joshua Amo-Adjei and the Faculty Officer, Mr. Daniel Yeboah Mensah, who also reiterated the objective of the programme and called on buddies to work within the set aims of the programme to ensure its success.
