Dublin City University Visits
A delegation from Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland, Prof Cliona O'Sullivan and A/Prof Sarah Meegan, paid a courtesy call on the Office of International Relations (OIR) on Wednesday, 13th May, 2026.
The visit aims to strengthen academic ties between the two institutions, with a focus on physiotherapy education and research. It also explores opportunities in sports and exercise science, human performance, and physical education.
The Dean of the OIR, Prof. Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi, warmly welcomed the visitors and reaffirmed UCC's dedication to mutually beneficial international partnerships. He praised the Department of Sport and Exercise Science for coordinating the visit.
The discussions emphasised formalising ties through a General Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the institutional level, paving the way for department-specific agreements. Prof. Boadi-Kusi urged leveraging grants like Erasmus+ for student and staff exchanges, joint research, and capacity building to enhance global exposure.
The DCU representatives expressed gratitude for the warm reception and productive discussions. They reiterated their commitment to collaboration in shared academic areas, highlighting its role in advancing teaching, research, and global engagement.
This visit highlights UCC's drive toward internationalisation and strategic partnerships.
