Leadership Change

The term of Office of Prof. Samuel Bert Boadi-Kusi as Dean of the Office of International Relations (OIR) has ended. Prof. Boadi-Kusi has served for the past five years at the OIR. He came in as Vice-Dean in the year 2021 and served for 2 years following which he was appointed as substantive Dean in 2023.

A handing over ceremony was held in the early hours of Friday 31st August to mark his end of term and also to welcome the new Dean in the person of Prof. Justus P. Deikumah. Patrons at the handing over ceremony were Prof. Paul Agu Asare and Prof. Alexander Weremfo who are friends of the new Dean. Staff of the OIR were also present. 

Prof. Boadi-Kusi addressed over some of the issues in the handover notes and wished the incoming Dean well in his tenure as Dean. He underscored the willingness of all the staff to provide support to ensure that Prof. Deikumah's tenure is successful.

On his part, Prof. Deikumah thanked the outgoing Dean for providing a comprehensive outlook of the office and putting things in place to ensure a smooth transition. He provided a glimpse of his vision for the Office and promised to ensure continuity in the midst of innovation to ensure that the internationalisation goals of the University are met.

The Faculty Officer, Mr. Daniel Yeboah-Mensah also welcomed the Prof. Deikumah and reiterated the willingness of everyone to work with him to achieve those goals.

Prof. Deikumah takes over as the new Dean of the Office from 1st August, 2026.
